At 8:28 I was the girl who had everything.
At 8:29 my whole world fell apart.
A split second can change your life. I learned this the hard way. I wasn't ready to let him go. Even when the terms "vegetative state" and "will never recover" were thrown around I held onto hope. I mean, miracles happen, right?
We deserved our happy ending.
Three years later and I'm still hoping. In my heart I know I have to let him go but how can I? He's the only man I've ever loved. He"s my soul mate. My life.
Then I meet Max. He's everything Aiden isn't and as much as I'm trying to fight my feelings, I'm losing. I don't want to fight anymore.
I need to live my life.
I need to move on.
But in order to move forward I need to let go of the past.

Loyalty to a ghost or living and loving in the present?
By Jessica Adkins-Charles
Loyalty to a ghost or living and loving in the present? That is a question that Kiara had thought over the last few years. Once a happy woman with a loving fianc and young daughter, Kiara's life was changed in an instant when her fianc was in an accident that has left him unresponsive in a coma for years.
Raising her daughter on her own, Kiara is torn between loyalty to Aiden, her fianc, and moving on with her life with someone new. With pressure to stay faithful to Aiden coming from his parents and pressure to move on coming from her family, Kiara has to decide what is best for her and for her daughter once and for all and Max may just be the guy to give her the strength to move on and offer her a future.
Missy Johnson is one of my favorite authors and she did not disappoint with her latest book! Words Left Unsaid is emotional, gripping, and heart-wrenching. I genuinely liked the book and the concept for it, but wished there was a little bit more "meat" to it. There just seemed to be a little something missing from the book. The characters were easily likable and Max had a good sense of humor. It was hard for Kiara to move on but she showed a lot of strength and was a wonderful mother to Tilly and always put her first through everything.
Aiden's parents (Heather) were a bit harsh for my taste. It was sad that their relationship had disintegrated to barbs when they had been close before Aiden's accident. As for Kiara's family, I really liked Ellie, Kiara's sister, and how she had stood by and helped and offered her support to Kiara over the years. Ellie offers her encouragement and a gentle push into moving on and in all honesty, I think it was exactly what Kiara needed.
I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to see what Missy Johnson has up her sleeve next.

really good!

This is an emotional story of love, loss, and letting go. 3 years ago, Kiara had everything she could want, a fiance she loves and a beautiful little girl. She was happy. That all changed when her fiance, Aidan, was in an accident. After the accident, he's in a coma in a vegetative state with no hope of ever recovering. For three years, Kiara isn't really living. She's raising her daughter, working a couple days a week and visiting Aidan. Her sister wants her to move on because she still has to live her life so she sets Kiara up on a blind date. The only thing is, Kiara has no idea she's going on a date and thinks she's meeting her sister for dinner. When she meets Max, she's angry and hurt to be set up but the more she gets to know him, the more she ends up liking him. Max is such a good guy. He loves kids, he likes animals, he doesn't sleep around. He's so patient with Kiara and is willing to wait for her to be ready for a relationship. I really liked Max. I knew going into this book that it was going to be emotional and it was very sad at times, but there was also a really sweet, slow-building romance. My only complaints are that the ending felt rushed a bit and I would've really liked an epilogue. Overall, this was a really sweet, emotional, and thoughtful story about moving on with life and finding love again.

Very emotional read

WOW - this was packed with emotions , heartbreaking yet healing. A standalone with a happy ending but the journey to get there is grueling and sometimes seemed impossible. The synop says it all. As a mother and a spouse or significant other , your worst nightmare. There one second gone the next, but not really gone , just hanging on by a thread , a thread that someone is forcing. The devastation of spending 3 years hoping , the guilt of attempting to move on , OMG if you don't cry or feel something during this story than you must be cold !!
Living life happily was Kiara , her fiance Aiden and their 2 year old Tilly. In a matter of minutes Aiden is taken from them. As a toddler Tilly cannot take the scariness of seeing her daddy hooked up to tubes and not able to hug her or speak. Kiara has to live life for her and Tilly but not forget about Aiden because he was her first everything and how do you move on and lose hope. Not to mention the burden she feels by Aiden's parents , mostly his mother. After being tricked by her sister on a blind date Kiara realizes she really does need to move on. She is not living life and Aiden wouldn't want that for her. Max is a great guy and their blind date was comical and his stories of his other blind dates even more so !! Ironically Tilly's struggles at school bring Kiara and Max together again. Max is sympathetic to Kiara's pain , he too has his own baggage. He is not willing to let this chance pass by. He really enjoys her company and he just can't get her off his mind. Thankfully for Kiara he is there as a friend more than anything because between her almost in laws and her needing a job Max swoops in to save many days !! There is a bit of angst by way of Kiara doing the push and pull thing. Give the girl a break she has been devoted to one man her whole life and the guilt is unbearable. They certainly make a great team and with Tilly on board things seem on the up and up. Aiden's mom has some serious issues , rightfully so , but her choices are less than desirable. Luckily for her she mends the bridges burned and is also able to let go of the pain and guilt.
Again this is a heartbreaking story about love , loss and the guilt of letting go. Also a healing story by way of moving on and finding happiness after the storm. Everyone deserves happiness and some are just lucky enough to have it more than once.
